In John Ch. 8 Yeshua was in big trouble. He had a whole crowd of people questioning His authority. Without them knowing that His authority was not of Himself it would be much more difficult for people to trust His words, and ultimately be broken free from bondage. Yeshua frequently found Himself being pushed around because He had nobody among the authority of the high priests, saducees or pharisees that would vouch for Him. And those who did were most likely not treated well.

Yeshua had done many great works and in many different ways. In fact His Father has made Him heir unto all things. Was Abraham, of whom He claims to be greater, one who could or would even claim to be as great as that? Heir unto all things? Did Abraham place disobedient Jonah in the belly of a whale? Did Abraham bring down the walls of Jericho and answer Joshua with “I am the commander of The Lord’s army,” when Joshua asked “Are you for us or against us?”

Was it Abraham who stormed in during a war between five kings with only three hundred men to save his nephew lot? How about when Abraham walked on water before His disciples after the question of the enemy was embedded in their minds: “Is Image result for Greater than Abrahamthis man really claiming to be greater than Abraham?” No, I do not remember Abraham doing those things. And those things He was company to was not of his own strength. Was it Abraham who took your sins within Himself, and poured out His life to bring you from living for death and into living and fighting for life?” No, that was not Abraham. That was, is, and always will be Yeshua, Who lives and reigns as The King of kings and Lord of lords.

Let’s look at how Yeshua handled His defense against the pharisees. There were so many things He could have done and said to cause their focus to shift away from arguing against Him. Look at where His focus was at all times. Yeshua is a master fisherman, casting His hook out and into the stream of their thoughts and then reeling them back to what His focus never averted from, ever.

<Then spake Yeshua again unto them, saying, “I am the light of the world, he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life.”>

Abraham never would have claimed something like that. <The pharisees therefore said “You bear record of Yourself, therefore Your record is not true.”>

<Yeshua answered and said unto them, “Though I bear record of Myself, yet My record is true for I know from where I came, and where I am going. But you cannot tell from where I come or where I am going. You judge after the flesh. I judge no man. And yet if I judge, My judgement is true.>

The following is a partial documentation of Yeshua’s conversation with His people in the treasury. If you crack open that Bible of yours and turn to John Ch. 8 verses 12-20 you will see the whole conversation. Yeshua is a master psychologist, sprinkling threats for disobedient thinking and promising life for obedient thinking and actions into His explanations and rebuddels to people’s hardened hearts. The same curses and promises that were given to His people so long ago and recorded in Deuteronomy 28.

Later in this same chapter, Yeshua is again pleading with men to recognize Him as being Lord and accept Him into their hearts to save them. Shouldn’t be too hard right? The high priests were not treating people very well and neither were the Romans, yet He worked with great strength and through great tribulation and trials to save even the oppressors. And get this. He saved even some of the oppressors! What a needle to thread!

<“He that is of God hears God’s words, you therefore hear them not, because you are not of God.”>

<Then answered the Jews, and said unto Him, “Say we not well that you’re a Samaritan and have a devil?”>

… < “And I seek not My own glory…Verily verily if a man keep My saying He will never see death.>

<Then The Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You have a devil, Abraham is dead and the prophets, and You say that if a man keep Your sayings he won’t taste death. Are You greater than our Father Abraham, which is dead? And the prophets are dead, Who do You make Yourself?”>

Now, to a group of people who had no televisions, magazines, books, or any media to keep themselves busy, were wholly concentrated in scripture, the reply that Yeshua gave them here is plainly admitting to them that He indeed is God:

< Yeshua said to them, “With absolute certainty, I tell you before Abraham was, I am”> And rightly so as His authority was descended upon Him directly from His Father for He did those things that pleased His Father. Imagine if a man who was not God was proclaiming the same truths to them! What is the crime in being greater than Abraham? There is not a crime there and a vast openness between Abraham’s journey towards perfection and YHVH’s perfection for multitudes of people to fill.

You see, Abraham did not walk on water, neither did Moses or the Israelites that had Image result for Yeshua Walking on waterbeen saved after seeing many great miracles performed in Egypt. In fact in order to tell His disciples that He indeed was greater than all the greats, He healed the sick, cast out demons, made the dead to rise, fasted 40 days and 40 nights in the desert, rebuked raging storms and many other very marvelous works that sang the song of the works done by YHVH, connecting those things to what He was doing before their very eyes. Yeshua is a wonderful counselor and great physician. He is a righteous, holy and good Father, and no suffering done under His tutelage will be done in vain if you stay walking in faith. Let your faith grow and produce good fruit for every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down. It then will be cast into the fire.
