Hello there Lord lover!  Today is a day that invites us to take a habitual thought pattern in our life and change it to better suit God’s needs.  This world is complicated and we are commanded to joyfully trust all of it to God.  We need to believe the things we say about how in control and awesome The Lord is.

An example of this is in Isaiah Ch.7 :

<And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.>

So we have three characters, all kings.  Ahaz is presently king of Judah and afraid, freaking out really becasue Pekah and Remaliah are ganging up against him to take over his kingdom.

And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.>

Then said the Lord unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou, and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller’s field;

 And say unto him, Take heed, and be quiet; fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and of the son of Remaliah.

 Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying,

 Let us go up against Judah, and vex it, and let us make a breach therein for us, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:>

< Thus saith the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.>

Alright, just a few verses ago, The Lord sent Isaiah to Ahaz to calm the king’s nerves. Lets put on our thinking caps for a minute and pretend that Isaiah never went to the king to calm his nerves. With a troubled mind, the king would have been more likely to blench at the sign of attack.

God created things so that our minds have some control over what is going on around us.  If the king’s worry had no effect on the outcome of the war we can assume that God would not have wasted Isaiah’s time.  Fear is an agent that controls.  God has made it an option for us to fear Him.  Worry can bring about a situation that otherwise would not have come to pass.  That is why we are asked to cast our worries upon Him.  If we are living for Him than it is His battle and we just kinda experience ourselves acting for Him, naturally knowing what to do.

The rest of chapter seven is a great prophecy of Immanuel’s birth and an account of what His early years are for.  It is filled with things to prayerfully meditate on.  Surely written and made part of The Bible for us to become closer with Our Creator.  The more we learn about who He is the better we can serve Him.  It is so cool getting to know Who God actually is.  It is important to wind into and out of reading His word with prayer, asking Him to give us the confidence we need to carry His words with His Spirit.
