What does a train look like? It looks like a whole bunch of train cars with an engine in the front and/or the back. The train cars are all connected. They all take the same course. That course is driven by one power. The train’s engines are even called that: The Power. An Engineer would say to the Conductor “What Power are we riding in tonight?” “Good question Frank, I don’t know yet, if I had to guess I would say the red one.”
In The Good Book, we learn that we are all connected and powered by One Source: The One they call Jesus. His name is Yeshua. Nobody called Him Jesus. They called Him Yeshua. Yeshua is Our Power. He powers us up the ladder that leads to life and into heaven. Much like the Conductor and Engineer of a train, our job is not to direct the path, but to stay awake, communicate with the team, and hold on for the ride through all things that will try getting in the way.
The Good Book tells us that if we train up our children in the way of The Lord, then if they go astray they will return. Tough question, please forgive me. How many people do you know that have trained up their children in the ways of The Lord and then have found that their children do not return?
God does not make promises He does not keep; Sometimes though, people make mistakes in choosing the train that they connect their children to. Unknowingly at first, and then when folks are corrected they generally don’t accept the truth.
The train of The Lord spans all generations. The ways of The Lord are described in Torah. In Torah, it tells us that God warns His children: Above all, keep My Sabbaths and Feast Days. His Sabbaths and Feast Days include The Feast of Tabernacles, Trumpets and First Fruits. The ways of The Lord are hard to follow, it feels weird, and it takes some humbling. A lot of humbling. Nine times out of ten it involves removing oneself from the social circle one has built (that’s the being set apart from the world The Bible talks about). Big huge sacrifice right? That sort of sacrifice is love that is worthy of giving to The Lord. Basically your whole life. All of it. He is that awesome.
There is another train that dates way back. Almost all generations even. It began as Pagan holidays and rituals. Pagan Feast Days are also based on the seasons, but do not oblige to The Lord. Over the years Satan has found ways to take the filthy, dirty train that is those Pagan holidays and dress them up in costumes, and replace their pagan names with Christian ones. Satan masquerades himself as an angel of light. Christmas, Easter, and Halloween. These are the holidays Satan uses to keep people with good intentions from finding their way out of Babylon.
To train your child up in a way that will lead to The Lord is to practice what The Lord has prescribed for all Israelites from the beginning. As it says in His word:
“And this is love, that we walk after His commandments. This is the commandment, that, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.”
That verse was written to a woman who had been trained in Torah from the beginning of her life. As she had heard from the beginning would be to practice Torah. Yeshua showed that it is about what is going on inside the heart, and what is going on outside is a support system for a person who is truly seeking The Truth.
Through the the writer of 2 John, Yeshua foreshadowed the times we are in today, warning us that people would believe that because of the sacrifice He made, obedience is no longer necessary. The sacrifice He made is what makes obedience possible.
If you would like to continue in disobedience the world will support you for it; However, you will have less of His ear, you will not be as protected by Him as you could be, and you will not be one who is pointing to and worshiping Him with your very rhythm of life. By choosing disobedience, you choose to sacrifice what you could have with Him for what you already have with the world.
