Now I am not going to pretend to know what heaven is all about for sure. I, though, can tell you that storing up knowledge of who God is, what He expects, and the precepts we are to hold dear cannot be eaten up by moth or rust. Matthew 6 19 <“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.>
If our heart’s desire is to please God then that’s where our heart will be. Matthew 6:21<For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.> If our heart’s are near God then we will better understand how to be of His fold.
If we choose earthly things over The Lords things our hearts will begin to be attached to those, unfortunately. Our minds will be eaten away at with lies and subtle falsehoods: fooling our senses and showing us evidence of things that really are just there to keep us from giving our lives to the One Who Has Shown Unending Love For Us.
If you have seen a child or teenager or even an adult who has a new toy, you will see how their heart is there with it. They will sacrifice a great deal to spend time with it. eventually the good feelings that come will go and they will move on to another.
Christ Jesus, we are grateful that it is you on the throne. Your love, Your faithfulness, Your unchanging characteristics, Your life which we abide in is worth our praise. Help us to better serve you, through study and prayer, serving others and loving ourselves.
James 5; 1-6 <1Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you. 2Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. 3Your gold and your silver have rusted; and their rust will be a witness against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure! 4Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. 5You have lived luxuriously on the earth and led a life of wanton pleasure; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. 6You have condemned and put to death the righteous man; he does not resist you.>
Matthew 6; 19-20 <“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.>
